mending voyage

Sail beside me,

Your ego flapping behind you in the sharp wind.

Come and raise a finger to help as I drop your anger,

Down into the sea as a lowly anchor.

Run your hands along the rail,

And remember you didn’t always act this way.

You were once a gentle breeze,

Your heart was always at ease.

But no longer.

What happened?

A lullaby was in your soul,

Now you’ve been rendered a heart of coal.

I miss you.

Your happiness,

Your greatness,

Your heart.

You are falling apart,

So let the sea help me to mend you.
